I was a preacher,a professor,a Godsplainera Rock.
Then my high pulpit crumbled.
I thought I would land, but just kept falling.
So I traded my firm foundationfor a set of wingsand made my home
on a rush of wind.
I grew up in a loving, Christian home. It was a good childhood.
At a low moment in high school, I met Jesus. He was so real to me that I wound up becoming a pastor and a seminary professor.
Along the way, I got married, raised 3 kids, built a house, played my french horn, and escaped to the woods as much as I could.
Then, the unthinkable happened: I lost my faith. If you want the whole story, scroll down.
Julie and I lived and worked on the road for three years, trying to recover my faith. It didn’t work.
Then came the dark night. I hid out in Seattle. It was awful.
The darkness became a door to better way to live—a life beyond belief.
Now I’m making a lot of noise telling people about it. I hope you’ll try it. I think you’ll love it.
