a professor,
a Godsplainer
a Rock.

Then my high pulpit crumbled.

I thought I would land,
but just kept falling.

So I traded my firm foundation
for a set of wings
and made my home

on a rush of wind.

Meet Maury

I grew up in a loving, Christian home. It was a good childhood.

At a low moment in high school, I met Jesus. He was so real to me that I wound up becoming a pastor and a seminary professor.

Along the way, I got married, raised 3 kids, built a house, played my french horn, and escaped to the woods as much as I could.

Julie and I lived and worked on the road for three years, trying to recover my faith. It didn’t work.
